Sensitive Items
Before you buy a printer or hard drive, please read the new "Sensitive Items list" from DOE
Before you buy a printer or hard drive, please be aware that new Department of Energy requirements mandate that these items must be property tagged and tracked.
The custodian will be held responsible for the whereabouts of items listed under their names.
The crucial difference today comes from DOE's heightened sensitivity to the control of electronic information. The cost/burden of tracking these item is considerable, so please be sure it is an essential purchase/item and that the custodian who will be assigned to it is aware of their responsibilities regarding the item.
Thank you.

Employee Referral Incentive Program (ERIP)
The Engineering Division encourages all current LBNL employees to utilize the LBNL Employee Referral Incentive Program (ERIP). ERIP awards $500 for regular jobs, $1,000 for moderately hard-to-fill jobs, and $2,000 for most-difficult-to-fill jobs to employees whose referral of an external candidate leads to a successful hire.
Current LBNL full time and part time candidates are eligible to participate.
Time Reporting Practices
(A message to EG employees on behalf of Kem Robinson)
In a recent audit of the Laboratory's time and effort reporting system, Internal Audit (IA) found significant non-compliance with time and effort reporting practices relative to our own policies and procedures.
