The Advanced Light Source (ALS) is a synchrotron light user facility supported by the Department of Energy’s Basic Energy Sciences Program. Its more than 40 beamlines serve more than 2,000 users annually across the physical and life sciences.

88" Cyclotron

The 88-inch cyclotron.

The 88-inch cyclotron is a particle accelerator that supports research in nuclear structure, astrophysics, heavy element studies, and technology R&D. The Engineering Division supports the facility with magnet design and maintenance, accelerator design and upgrades, mechanical and electrical engineering, and more.
