Berkeley Lab physicists and engineers played a central role in the successful integration of the inner carbon-fiber-composite barrels with the outer cylinder, marking a key milestone in the ATLAS Inner Tracker upgrade at CERN. In particular, the Engineering Division team has been key to the project, providing the expertise driving the detector’s planning, design, fabrication, assembly, qualification, and installation.
